About Ubuhle Bezwe
How it all began
Ubuhle Bezwe Child Care Centre was established in 2000 as a non-profit non-government organisation. The director, Barbra Mthimkhulu identified children in her community that were suffering. Children with HIV/AIDS; Children without parents; street children who were hungry and begging for food.
Babra opened her home and heart to the children in need. Thus the loving shelter for children in need opened it doors.
In a short space of time Barbra was caring for about 30 children and supporting many more in the community. Currently 34 children, raging in ages from a few months to 18 years old reside at Ubuhle Bezwe. Most of the children come to the home via the Tembisa Crisis Centre and SAPS Children Protection Unit.
Start children off on the way they should go and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.
